The public exhibition period for Planning Scheme Amendment C106 closed on Thursday 13 June 2013. Thank you to everyone who made a submission.
A summary of the submissions received during this period was presented to Council for consideration at a Council Meeting on Tuesday 23 July. Officers will now prepare a response to all submissions and make appropriate revisions to Amendment C106 for consideration at a future Council Meeting.
The Council Report, supporting documents, and minutes from the Council Meeting are available on Council's website.
The underpinning principle of Amendment C106 is to ensure that the St Kilda Triangle and Palais Theatre are developed in the interests of all the community - including residents, business operators and visitors to the St Kilda foreshore. It implements the framework developed with the community in St Kilda Triangle 2012.
To strengthen community involvement in the site, the Amendment seeks to reinstate Third Party Notice and Appeal Rights for planning permit applications.
"The St Kilda Triangle is a loved seaside place that acknowledges and builds on the local character and location.
It is a public place supported by a mix of uses to make it attractive and welcoming.
It makes St Kilda a great place."
